You need to choose a drug that already some company is working on to develop such as Pfizer, Moderna or any other companies only one company with the drug they are working on, and you need to write about the structure of the ligand and how effected the compound is, talk about the pre-clinical trails which mean the animals tests before it goes to the human and the real clinical trails and how it’s safe and what are the experimental results that u expects? You are the Associate Director of a therapeutics research division in a Pharmaceutical Company called Ingenius Therapeutics. You have uncovered a lead product that has appears to bind very strongly to the main protease (MPro) of SARS-CoV-2 and inhibit it’s function based on computational studies. It is known that MPro is one of two proteases expressed by the SARS-CoV-2 virus and is required for processing of the viral proteins and viral replication. Hence, inhibition of MPro with a suitable inhibitor should interfere with the viral replication process in infected individuals and reduce the severity of Covid-19 disease.

You have evidence following screening that your lead compound binds with SARS-CoV-2 MPro. Detailed computational modelling suggest the binding site for the compound will sterically interfere with MPro enzyme activity.

Put together a project plan for your Director to explain how this drug will be tested. Focus on preclinical tests only, including in silico, in vitro and in vivo studies and outline what would be needed to progress into human clinical trials.

The project report must be less than 1.500 words.

Describe the structure / origin of the compound.
Identify appropriate in silico, in vitro and in vivo tests.
Explain the models you are using to test the drug and why.
Identify the results that you would need to achieve at each stage before you progreiquss to the next step.
