Aims of the study: 1 an attempt to report the prevalence of depressive symptoms among patients with chronic schizophrenia. 2 Determine whether there is a relation between depressive symptoms and certain schizophrenia symptoms. Materials and Methods: Stable chronic schizophrenic participant who are already on antipsychotics treatment will be chosen and assessed for depressive symptoms and other psychopathology. The measures will include: 1 the schizophrenic inpatients selected randomly. 2 a semi-structured clinical interview will be applied to every participant using a questionnaire that includes demographic data. 3 Arabic version of scales for the assessment of depressive symptoms (the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) and psychotic symptoms (the Positive and Negative syndrome scale (PANSS) will be appliiqued in the study. 4 statistical measurements.
