Learning Activity: Pay Grades and Ranges
The purpose of this assignment is to reflect on the material that you have read and to practice creating pay grades and ranges. This assignment will reinforce key skill related to compensation.
Instructions
For this activity, you must:

  1. Use the attached template to complete the base pay learning activity. Components include:
    a. Reviewing the job worth hierarchy
    b. Selecting the appropriate strategy for lead, lag or matching the market
    c. Placing results on a graph
    d. Determining the number of grades and the positions that fall into each grade
    e. Establishing pay ranges
    f. Identifying green and red circling
    Structure
