Wattle Software is undertaking a planned change to move from the traditional Project Management (PM)approach to use Agile PM. As an experienced Agile IT Project Manager you have been employed by Wattle Software to kick‐start this change. The shift to Agile PM has come about as members of the senior executive committee at Wattle Software have been disappointed with the outcomes of a number of recent projects. You have been informed by the CIO that the business users are disappointed with the current operational mode of projects as their input to, and participation in, these recent projects was often ignored. The CIO has
also indicated that morale within the various project teams is very low. These are seen as key factors behind the shift to Agile PM. The next project for your team is about to start the Conceptualization and Initialization phase. As an Agile Project Manager you know the equivalent phase in Agile is the Envision phase. Your project team has 9 members all with varying levels of experience, ranging from 12 months to 10 years.
You will meet your project team for the first time at 12 noon today. Outline what you will say to your team
in regards to the following:
1. your view of project management,
2. how you will run the project, and
3. your expectations of the project team.
Produce an outline of the points you will make in the meeting with written supporting text, i.e. why these
points are important. Hence, you will need to justify and/or explain the rationale behind your statements.
This is your first communication with the project team.
Justify and explain your answers.
Please note: If needed, it is expected that either footnotes or in‐text references will be included to
acknowledge the source of ideas used in your answer
