Transnational Migration – Gender and Age

Compose a critical analysis of how Boehm’s text builds on an understanding of the effects of gender (and age) in transnational migration decisions and how migration impacts notions of gender subjectivities, marriage, intimate relations, and kin relations. Does the author succeed in evoking a sense of the “both sides,” the “here and there” experiences of transnational families, and the social injustice inherent in immigration law and state power that limit family unity while promoting production?¬†Integrate examples from the NPR program and broadcast in your work.
