Products to Honor Designer
One is not to use the original designer products, Haute Couture or Made to Measure. Additionally, any
designer high priced prestige or luxury market items are not to be used. Use products from current
designers that you are selling in your store whose designs were inspired by the ideas of the GREAT
DESIGNERS that reflect the aesthetics of the merchandise in your store. Most consumers cannot afford
the originals of the actual great designers. This is about a promotion of how these ideas are reflected in
the aesthetics of your store. You will find current affordable price products. Example: If Chanel was your
designer, all little black dresses may be a homage to Chanel.
Products by contemporary designers do not have to be current famous names. Usually the ones that
reinterpret designs for the different levels of income from Mass Production, Moderate to Bridge are not
necessarily famous individual names. They design for a particular brand. Research the various brands
whose products reflect the aesthetics of the designer you are honoring and use these products.

 The 20 products chosen to honor each designer are to display their influence across the board to
moderate, contemporary, better and bridge designs.
 The purpose of this it to understand the influence these designers have across the board as role
models to other designers and whose aesthetics are still popular with consumers.
 Also, by providing products in the other price categories, (Moderate, Contemporary, Better and
Bridge Designs) you are displaying the contribution of these designers to fashion across the
board. Remember a style become fashion only if consumers purchase and wear it. When
consumers from all the price categories wear a similar style, it is a tribute to the designer.

Searching for Brands
Zara & H&M are not to be used as these are highly established private label brands that are sold exclusively
in their own stores.
You may use brands that are sold in department stores. Example, Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren brands
are available in more than in category. At Lord & Taylor, one can find them in the designer section and
moderate too.
There are numerous brands out there that would fit the aesthetic of your store.
As you first, established the aesthetics of your retail store. Now, research a major store chain dept.
stores that are aligned with this or would have a wide range of apparel and categories. Review their brand
of apparel. Choose the ones appropriate for you.
